Saturday Night: Becoming Hildegard

“Becoming Hildegard”

This theatrical concert explores the life and work of the remarkable 12th century polymath, St. Hildegard von Bingen, as it echoes through time into contemporary music and thought. The program features choral ensemble, viola and piano, including plainsong and works that are influenced by early music, to create a texture of space, stillness, deep listening and healing.

Society of the Sacred Advent

The Reverend Sister Gillian Moses SSA will joining us at Hildefest to talk about religious communities in the twenty-first century. In this way we will honour Hildegard's life as a member & leader of a religious order.

The Society of the Sacred Advent is an Anglican Religious Order that has been working with women and girls in Queensland for over 125 years. Today you might know of them through their schools: St Margaret's Anglican Girls School at Albion and St Aidan's Anglican Girls' School at Corinda.

They also have an historical connection with Holy Trinity. Over the years we were lucky to have Parish Sisters ministering here. Sister Dora, S.S.A. (pictured) was part of the community from 1916-1933, and was remembered especially fondly by the parish.
